| Welcome to the Library. This
will be one of the most dynamic aspects of our web site. It will be used to publish
articles and information on many aspects related to the Keeshond breed and dogs in
general. So, check back here from time to time and enjoy! If you have something you have written which you
would like to have published here, contact us and we will be happy to consider it for
inclusion. If there is a subject of interest that you would like to see something on, let
us know. Currently this page is under construction, so there is only one article available
at this time. But, there will be more in the future, we promise! |

| Discussion of the Keeshond Standard - This is actually excerpts from a presentation Dennis LeHouillier made when asked to address the LA Dog Judges organization by giving a seminar on the Keeshond breed standard. Dennis has been showing and breeding Keeshonden for more than 25 years and has been invited to judge Sweepstakes at Keeshond Specialties on several occasions, most recently The Heart of America Keeshond Club Specialty in 1997. Newcomers to the breed may find this article helpful in understanding what was intended by some of the wording presented in the breed standard. Understand that this is one breeder's interpretation, other experienced breeders are invited to offer up their own interpretations which I will be happy to publish here as well. Adobe .pdf file format. Locating A Puppy by Rene Sauser - This is my attempt at educating the prospective puppy buyer on how to go about locating a puppy. It addresses the four potential sources for puppies and why one source is better than another. Adobe .pdf file format. Dew Claw Removal Procedure by Rene Sauser - An article for breeders who have tried their own dewclaw removal at home and run into excessive bleeding. This method has been almost entirely blood-free ... and stress-free for us. Adobe .pdf file format. Grooming The Keeshond by Rene Sauser - This is a pictorial demonstration of grooming out a Keeshond. Most of the techniques described may be appiled to other double-coated breeds as well. It's not quite as good as a video...but it's better than nothing! Control of Canine Genetic Diseases by
Rene Sauser - This is actually a sort of book report on a
book by Dr. Padgett of the same title. A must read for every breeder or would-be breeder.
